With an outstanding background as a professional singer and extensive teaching experience, Matt Burdynowski brings both his passion and his expertise to the sessions, helping you achieve beyond your expectations!

Matt has studied Jazz Singing at Trinity College of Music, and has worked as a singing tutor for 15 years. He is also an active performer, and runs his own alternative a cappella group called The Few (repertoire includes Radiohead, Lady Gaga, Florence and the Machine, Imogen Heap, etc.), for which he writes all of the music. Matt performs as a lead singer and percussionist with Rhythms of the City, London's top street percussion band. He sees "tone-deafness" and "no sense of rhythm" as harmful labels given to students by incompetent teachers, and is set on proving them wrong. He likes working with students who are motivated and passionate, regardless of their starting level.

What Matt's students say:

"With Matt, I have learned to sing in different registers and developed my intonation. He makes the learning curve soft and gradual. Matt is a very encouraging, creative, integrative, direct and positive teacher."

- Zahida P.

"As a teacher Matt is passionate about the progress of his students. Each week it's obvious he's been thinking creatively about exercises that will move them forward, whether as individuals or as a group. He creates an environment that is fun, safe (in that it is free of unnecessary criticism), yet focused carefully on progress."

- Neill B.

"Matt is a thoughtful, reliable and inspiring singing teacher. He is able to manage a group of singers whose musical expertise can vary vastly. He constantly strives to bring out the best in his students!"
